PaneFlow 3D Models - Our Biggest Editor Release Yet

For the past few months we've been building a release so big we nicknamed it Final Boss internally.

Today it ships: 3D models in PaneFlow. Drop realistic device mockups (or clean geometry), position and rotate them in true 3D, and animate those changes smoothly between panes - inside PaneFlow's pane-and-block system (not scroll-triggered).

#What's New

3D models you can add today.

3D Devices & Mockups

  • iPhone 17 Pro (portrait, landscape)
  • iPhone 17 Air (portrait, landscape)
  • iPad (portrait, landscape)
  • Macbook Pro
  • Studio Display
  • Browser Window (white, black)
  • Plane (16:9, 16:10)

3D Geometry Shapes

  • Cube
  • Capsule
  • Torus
  • Cone
  • Cylinder
  • Pyramid

#The Fun Part - Real 3D Control, Right on the Canvas

When you select a 3D model, the element "frame" now includes 3D controls:

  • Pan controls (left-bottom corner arrows) to move the model in 3D space
  • Rotation controls (right-bottom corner circles) to rotate it

This keeps the workflow fast. No hunting in side panels. Just grab, nudge, rotate, done.

#Smooth Animation Between Panes

This is where it starts feeling like PaneFlow.

Because your slideshow is built from panes and reusable blocks, you can set a model's position/rotation differently per pane - and PaneFlow will animate the change smoothly when transitioning.

Think of it like moving a physical object across a tabletop, except your tabletop is a slideshow and your object is a 3D iPhone.

PaneFlow tip: Treat a 3D model like a "hero prop". Keep it consistent across multiple panes, then animate it to lead the viewer's eye.

#Screen-Enabled Models - Make Them Feel Alive

For models with a screen (devices & mockups), you can now add real content:

  • Apply a screen image or video
  • Toggle screen reflections for a more realistic look
  • iPhone: toggle the cutout to show the device frame details
  • Macbook Pro: toggle the lid open/closed (and yes, it can be animated)
  • Browser Window: set a browser URL to display in the frame

#Geometry Shapes - Clean, Bold, and Surprisingly Useful

The geometry set is intentionally simple. These shapes are perfect for:

  • Abstract product backdrops
  • Depth and layering behind text
  • "Techy but tasteful" motion accents
  • Icon-like compositions (cube + capsule + torus goes a long way)

Right now you can apply a fill color to these shapes - which makes them great for brand palettes and quick visual rhythm.

#How to Use 3D Models in PaneFlow

  1. Click Add 3D Model

  2. Pick a model from Devices & Mockups or Geometry Shapes

  3. Position and rotate it using the on-canvas pan + rotation controls

  4. If it's a screen model, open Screen Content and add an image or video

  5. Create a new pane, adjust the model again - enjoy the smooth pane-to-pane animation

  6. Export or publish:

    • Publish to CDN (fast embed + easy updates)
    • iFrame embed anywhere
    • Webflow App or Framer Plugin
    • Export to HTML/React/Vue/Svelte
    • Export to Video

#FAQ

#Can I animate 3D models in PaneFlow?

Yes - change a model's position/rotation between panes and it animates smoothly during pane transitions.

#Can I put real content on device screens?

Yes. Screen-enabled models support image or video screen content, plus reflection and device-specific toggles.

#Is this scroll-triggered?

No. PaneFlow uses a pane-and-block architecture. Animations happen via pane transitions and block states - not scroll tricks.

#Can I export or embed slideshows with 3D models?

Yes. You can publish to CDN/iFrame, embed via Webflow/Framer, export to code (HTML/React/Vue/Svelte), or export to video.

#Try It Today

Ready to fight the Final Boss?

3D models are part of the core PaneFlow experience - and yes, this is exactly why we moved to subscriptions: to keep shipping bigger "Final Boss" releases.

Open PaneFlow, drop a 3D model into a pane, set a screen video, then publish to CDN so you can embed it anywhere and keep updating it with zero fuss.
